Pasture Saints Meats
Our Mission
Welcome to Pasture Saints Meats. We are a family owned operation run by the Burns and St Jean families near New Hamburg, Ontario. At Pasture Saints meats we strive to raise premium grass-fed beef from calving to finish. Our philosophy is to use regenerative agricultural practices to create an environment where our cattle can thrive and grow to their full potential and the pasture land can also flourish in order to create a fully sustainable system.

Andrew and Kalina St. Jean live on a small farm just outside New Hamburg with their three children. As you may know, Andrew grew up on a farm where his dad raised grass-fed beef and the land was rented to an organic farmer who Andrew spent his teen years working for and learning from. After completing a degree in Business at University of Guelph, Andrew started working as a grain marketer and took over the land base at his home farm where he began cropping it with other land he rents. Now he is the Organics Manager at Beechwood Agri Services while also still growing crops and now raising grass-fed beef. After growing up around the beef cows Andrew always wanted to have a hand in raising them. As an organic crop farmer he knows the importance of caring for the land and having a good relationship with it in order for it to continue to support crops. The same goes with the relationship of land and livestock and he is excited to add the cows to the land base in order to expand the nutrient cycle. Kalina grew up in north-eastern Ontario with a background in horses. After completing an Equine Management degree at University of Guelph she worked in the equine feed industry and eventually in the livestock feed industry in everything from sales and customer service to marketing and communications. After seeing first hand what is fed to livestock in the conventional market, making the switch to pasture raised animals came naturally.

Jordan and Drew Burns live on Drew’s family farm south of New Hamburg with their daughter. Jordan grew up in Arthur but always loved the farm. His uncle got him interested in showing beef cattle through 4-H and his passion for beef cattle took off. Jordan raised and showed cattle through his teen years exhibiting through southern Ontario and the Royal Winter Fair which taught him the principles of feeding handling and breeding cattle. Jordan started a purebred Simmental herd at the age of 16. Drew grew up south of New Hamburg just down the road from Andrew’s family’s farm. There she fed cattle and helped around the grain elevator during harvest. Drew’s interest took to the cattle side of the operation where she took the lead roll of feeding and caring for the cattle. A few years after graduating from the University of Guelph Ridgetown campus where Drew and Jordan met, they settled on the farm where Drew had grown up. Now they work together caring for the cattle and operating the grain elevator and feed storage business at Einwechter Grain and Livestock. After moving Jordan’s herd of cattle to the New Hamburg area they began implementing rotational grazing into their management practices. Listening to podcasts and reading Gabe Brown’s book ‘Dirt to Soil’ had inspired the shift towards regenerative agriculture. Jordan and Drew immediately saw benefits from this management change. The grass grew back faster, cattle performed better and were healthier and wildlife returned to the grassland throughout the year. Since this shift, Jordan and Drew dove head first into regenerative agriculture and have implemented other strategies since. After Andrew and Jordan met and started sharing ideas on herd management the plans for Pasture Saints Meats began and the herds were merged.
